Meet Ohio's Dairy Farmers
About Ohio Dairy Farming Ohio is home to more than 276,000 dairy cows. Ohio ranks 1st in the nation in Swiss cheese production and 8th in overall cheese production. Ohio ranks 11th in the nation in total milk production. Ohio's dairy cows produce more than 600 million gallons of milk annually.

For Ohio dairy farmers, our work is more than a nine-to-five job. Dairy farming is our passion and our lifestyle. We get up early and come home late, but we never truly clock out. We care for our cows because they are part of our families, and that kind of care is a round-the-clock commitment.

Dairy farming is hard work that requires dedication, but there are many rewards. We get to spend our time with the animals we love and working with our friends and families. At the end of a long day, we take great pride in knowing the work we do matters to so many families.

Dairy farming has changed a lot over the years, but what hasn't changed is our commitment to our animals, our environment and the families who enjoy the dairy foods we produce. We work hard to ensure our cows are happy and comfortable so they can produce high quality milk. And because we live and work on our farms, we respect our land and work to protect our communities.

Ohio is home to more than 3,300 dairy farms and the families who live and work on them. But chances are you’re not familiar with our stories. We encourage you to meet the families who produce the dairy foods you trust and enjoy every day. Click on the tabs at the top of the page and get to know us.
